Adolph Schumann, 80, was a founding member of OPSC, and its third President. Skiing was one of his great passions. "Where Schumann goes, the snow blows" was one of Adolph¹s many entertaining sayings. Born in Chicago November 18, 1925, as a youth Adolph worked in his family¹s bakery, first in Chicago, then in Melrose Park. He served in the Air Force and attended IIT, and enjoyed a 40-year career as an architect.

Anna passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, at the age of 46. Anna and husband Mike were quite active in the club. They went on the Verbier, Switzerland trip, and the 2005 Lake Tahoe trip, with their son. They attended numerous OPSC activities, banquets, and bike rides. And they attended the 2005 Burgoo Fest. Jim Buntain

Jim Buntain, DDS, passed away at age 72.
He was an OPSC member for about 15 years, and a member of the National Ski Patrol for 35 years. He attended the 2005 OPSC banquet. Some of you may remember him from a few of the trips he went on in the past several years. In lieu of flowers, the club donated $20 in his name to the Northwestern University Athletic Department.

Mary Ellen was a long time member, and very active in the club. She went on several trips, and participated in many activities. In lieu of flowers, OPSC donated $50 to the Chicago Botanic Garden, in her memory.

Ed was very active in the club and usually you could find him skiing on just about any trip the club was running. He was a friend to many of our members. His good friend, Ralph Brunke, carried Ed’s ashes to Aspen and planted them in the snow at the top of a run called "Remember Me".

Dottie Uchimoto a 29 year member of OPSC passed away on Friday May 5th, after a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Her husband Dennis Uchimoto has been a member for 16 years so far.

Our lodge president for the 98/99 season, Sandy was very active in our club. Despite the fact that she knew she was very ill, Sandy went on our Alaska trip and then was at the spring banquet. She was determined to be a part of OPSC for as long as possible. Sandy’s daughter Kim Cox was also a member of OPSC.
